Painted as worship during The River Conference in
Denver Colorado, 2007. The conference
featured teaching my Graham Cooke and
worship by Ruth Fazal. (Click
here for upcoming Conferences sponsored
by Living Word Ministries.)
This piece is very personal to me as my two
children are the models. Abigael, of East
Indian descent, is little Miriam, watching
and waiting in the river for the
deliverance... over her brother (in this
case-our second child, Gracie is the model a
beautiful African American baby). It is the
story of the Faithful Intercessor. It is the
a story familiar to many adoptive families.
It is part of my testimony as I gave up
Gracie to her birth mother after we parented
her for the first year of her life. I am the
mother who willingly put my child in the
river and trusted God for her destiny to be
fulfilled.
During the conference the Spirit of the Lord
came very heavy in the area where we were
painting. People began to sit around the
paintings. God was thick in his healing.
This was a healing painting to me.
Although it was highly personal for me, it
was painted at the conference while the
people were grieving over and praying for
Israel. I felt alone with the Lord, yet was
part of the worship team in that I painted,
reported, I was a scribe of what was going
on in the Spirit at that very moment. I made
visible, the invisible. The hope that Israel
will see the Messiah-that the Deliverer will
be delivered. The prayer of the Faithful
Intercessor was painted that day. Look
closely and you can see the Great Cloud of
Witnesses rejoicing behind Miriam and the
new mother scoops the baby out of the river.
